Electrical & Instrumentation Installation of Mechanical MMD Twin Shaft MINERAL SIZER™

Client – MMD
Project Period – 3 Weeks
Site - Industrial Facility; Somerset
Project Manager – R.Ekakitie

The project was to assist in the design of electrical cabling from a temporary MCC to a mechanical MMD Sizer (material crushing machine).

The site requirements meant that all operatives had to meet stringent entry criteria.

New Britain Oils Ltd

Area – Liverpool Site
Project Period – 4 Months
Value - £120,000
Site wide replacement of conventional switch start lighting.

OES Installations Ltd were invited to carry out a study on the feasibility cost and projected return on investment period to replace all existing with LED Lighting. Initial overall design carried out using up to date lighting software by OES Installations Lighting Design Department, all areas on site that included:

  • 9 Floors of Refinery
  • Production Plant
  • Finished Goods/Stores
  • Administration & Offices
  • Tanker Loading

Working with the New Britain Oils Engineering & Management team, a full site survey and report was completed and OES Installations carried out the lighting changes during an agreed programme. Over 600 site wide lights were changed and gave New Britain Oils a return on investment of 2 years, and due to the warranty period has also meant no maintenance or repairs are required by the Client.

Mr Andrew Tomlinson, the Project Manager at New Britain Oils has stated that “this has stopped maintenance and project breakdown costs, it has delivered a high level of lighting and reduced our running costs”.

“OES Installations management and site team worked closely to a high level of expertise. OES Installations kept myself included in all activities during the changeover. Some of the areas, due to extreme heights could have posed dangers so we were both always very conscious of this”.
